About This Project

This residential property in Bristol had a newly constructed rear extension built with blockwork that required a high-performance external wall insulation system to improve thermal efficiency and achieve a clean, modern finish that matched the existing home.

The client wanted the extension to be warm, energy efficient and visually seamless, while ensuring long-term durability and weather protection.

What We Did

We installed a full external wall insulation (EWI) system to the new rear extension, creating a continuous insulated envelope and finishing the property with a crisp, modern appearance.

The system was designed to integrate neatly with existing elevations, openings, and drainage, ensuring both performance and aesthetics were addressed.

The Project Included

  • Inspection and preparation of new blockwork substrate

  • Installation of external wall insulation boards

  • Full mesh-reinforced basecoat system

  • Silicone primer and silicone render topcoat

  • Careful detailing around windows, doors and junctions

  • Adjustments to downpipes and services

  • Full site protection and clean-up

Results

  • Significantly improved thermal performance to the new extension

  • Reduced heat loss and improved internal comfort

  • Clean, modern render finish that blends with the existing property

  • Durable, low-maintenance exterior designed for long-term performance

  • A completed extension ready for internal fit-out and occupation
